Has anyone read them all? Read any of them? What did you think?

I started reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz last summer, but didn't get beyond that one. I still plan to, I just haven't had time. (Dissertations will do that to you.) I was shocked to find out how many there are -- I thought he'd only written a handful of them.

I've got this edition -- all the books in one, huge volume. And look what comes up as the "Perfect Partner" book. (I'm sure you can guess, without clicking the link! )

Moved the topic to this section, slightly more appropriate to house it here.

Thanks

Thanks, mods. I wasn't sure where it should go! :loove:

I've read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - both in Czech and English. And I borrowed Marvelous Land in a Czech translation from a library once but the translation was such a huge disaster (many mistakes, many sentences translated word for word) so I only read like 15 pages and laughed at it with my classmates and then I brought the book back to the library.

If anyone's interested and hasn't read them, the University of Pennsylvania's Online Books Page appears to have them all (though not in reading order).

(If that URL doesn't work, try http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/search.html, and search for "Baum" and "Oz".)

I read the Wizard of Oz only and I laughed all the time. It's a nice book but I think it's not good idea to read Wicked first and just then this book. ^-^

Because I was practically screaming all the time "Hey, that's Elphie!" and I didn't like the fact she had just one eye...I think I was the only girl who wished Dorothy to die while reading the book. L Frank Baum's 'Oz' Books 998448

I've never actually read those books!
I wander if they will have them in my library; what section would they be in??

I've read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in Finnish. It was easy to read but I didn't like it that much. Maybe I'm too old... no that can't be it. :) Now I'm reading the second part The Marvelous Land of Oz (which is strangely translated "The rebels of Oz" or something like that). I think I like this part a little better. Maybe because it hasn't had Dorothy yet.
